With over 800 million active users around the world and 90% of all users accessing the app on a daily basis, TikTok is certainly here to stay.

This is the platform to unleash your fun and creative side and is perfect for placing your user-generated content. If you can master the strategy of including your brand in compelling stories, you’ll have a much better chance of reaching your millennial and Gen-Z audiences. Be careful not to make it look like an advert though - Authenticity is absolutely key.

If you are in the cosmetics, creative or jewellery industry then the chances are you will have success on TikTok. There is a huge user market around these topics and plenty of ways for you to get creative and promote your products.

Here are our top tips for TikTok success

  1. Don’t mess around with your video too much after you’ve captured it. So what, if it’s not pretty - TikTok is all about being real and spontaneous. Users will spot an advert a mile away and won’t engage with your content.

  2. Make it ‘memeable’. Jump onto the latest trends with the most popular songs & dances on the platform - Here’s a list of some of the most popular in 2020 to help you get started. Comedy works really well too. It all helps towards giving your brand personality.

  3. Put loads of effort into your first post. Impressions tend to be higher with first posts. This is to entice you to keep using the platform.

  4. Check which posts are currently trending and include some keywords / hashtags associated with them in your post. This will then get recommended to users with the same interests.
